  3. I'm not sure if this sentence was supposed to be unscrambled, but this is what I got. Also there was to Start Codon or Stop Codon so I wasn't sure where to start or stop:

HUNGRY YOU WAS ARE AN ME IT SCHOOL LEARN IT AT NATURAL SELECTION IT WE BE BE LEARN HUNGRY INTO BAD.

    1. Linda,

You needed to transcribe the code into RNA first, then translate it into the sentence. You took the DNA and went straight to translation, which is hard to do since the code uses U (uracil) instead of T (Thymine).

    2. Oh! I knew I had missed a step somewhere but I could not figure it out. After seeing your post I realized my mistake. Thank you, I got it now.

  5. Tamara,

Your response should have included the sentence you meant to produce and a walk through on where you think the person doing the decode went wrong. What you posted didn't teach us anything!

I do see the start codon (two, actually) and stop codon and the random bases. But somewhere in there you added in a base... it's a point mutation. It messes up the rest of your words. I think you had mutation early on too as you have the word "class" twice. Take a look at my decode below and track down where you made the mistake.

    DNA: GAAGTACTACTCTAAGTCTGAACGCGTTGAGGTGGGTGAGTGTCTTCTCGTGAATCCGCA
    RNA: CUUCAUGAUGAGAUUCAGACUUGCGCAACUCCACCCACUCACAGAAGAGCACUUAGGCGU
Triplets: AUG AGA UUC AGA CUU GCG CAA CUC CAC CCA CUC ACA GAA GAG CAC UUAG
[start] Class for class is confusing dream are sit are skull hungry sleepy think [U] [stop}]
